E-Weekly Aug 27th, 2008 Print this article Profile extrusion: Battenfeld, Cincinnati Extrusion combine forcesBy Matt Defosse Both extruder manufacturers were acquired by equity investor Triton in early 2007, and now both will be united under a single leadership. Wolfgang Studener, longtime managing director of Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik (Bad Oeynhausen, Germany), also will assume the management of competing extruder manufacturer Cincinati Extrusion (Vienna, Austria), effective Sept. 1. Studener will manage both groups of companies, which, in addition to the two parent companies include American Maplan, B+C Extrusion Systems, Extrusion Kempen, and the Cincinnati Extrusion subsidiaries in Japan and the U.S. Studener’s successor at Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik is Rainer Kottmeier, previously general manager of the pipe product group. Walter Haeder remains the day-to-day manager at Cincinnati Extrusion. Studener also announced that Henning Stieglitz, a longtime extrusion industry expert at competing extruder manufacturer KraussMaffei, will join Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik effective Nov. 1, 2008.
Both brands—Battenfeld and Cincinnati Extrusion—will still be used. The reorganization of both groups of companies will manifest itself in intensified back-end integration, by pooling the corporate sectors strategic purchasing, production, logistics, and financial administration of both groups of companies.—mdefosse@modplas.com |
