Line targets PVC pipe, profile production

By Modern Plastics Editorial Staff

The Bandera 2b line has two parallel counter-rotating, intermeshing twin screws intended for granulating and extruding vinyl for pipe, profiles, and sheet applications from either powder or granules. It includes melt pressure and temperature gauges with electronics systems for real-time reading of values and controlling the extruder motor that will be stopped in case of over pressure. Optionally the unit can be equipped with electronic load cells to measure the actual axial load on the screws. The barrel is produced from tool steel, is nitrided and honed. Alternatively a high wear and corrosion-resistant bimetallic barrel can be installed. It can be equipped with a PVC pelletizing unit featuring a perforated plate block and rotating blade/cutting assembly. Granule cooling is by fluidized bed.
